Dais Records is committed to making our website accessible to as many people as possible, including people with disabilities. We want all customers to be able to browse products, read product information, manage their shopping cart, and complete purchases, with confidence.
Standards and approach
We strive to design and develop our website in accordance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, which provide guidance for making digital content more accessible to people with disabilities.
Measures we have taken
We have already implemented the following measures to improve accessibility on our website:
- Used clear site structure, headings, menus, link destination descriptions, and labels so content is easier to understand and navigate
- Provided alternative text and fig captions for meaningful product and content images
- Added keyboard navigation for major site functions, including buttons, menus, and cart access
- Added labels for search, checkout, errors, and required fields, and aria-labels for e.g. cart icons, menu toggles, slider, and product galleries
- Used readable text, high color contrast, captions for videos, and transcriptions for podcasts, and avoided auto-playing audio.
Limitations and future steps
Because our store uses Shopify tools, some parts of your experience may also depend on Shopify platform features, our selected theme, and third-party apps or integrations, that are not fully under our direct control. Where reasonably possible, we choose and configure those tools in a way that supports accessibility.
Where we identify barriers, we aim to address them directly when possible or work with vendors and service providers to seek improvements.
We have already taken steps to ensure our accessibility measures also work with mobile devices. However, some features such as use with mobile screen readers and gesture accessibility are still under development and testing.
We will continue to review and test our website and accessibility measures as our products, content, design, and integrations evolve.
