About Tempers

The New York City duo of Jasmine Golestaneh and Eddie Cooper aka Tempers specialize in a sleek strain of low-lit poetic synth-pop, the latest statement of which feels like the peak fruition of their elusive alchemy.

In 2015, following well received tours in Europe and the United States, Tempers saw the release of their debut album entitled Services, originally released in Germany via the highly regarded cult imprint Aufnahme + Wiedergabe and quickly became a staple in the synth-pop/post punk scenes in both the States and in Europe.

Following Services, Tempers have regularly appeared at a number of international festivals and venues, including Test Pressing Festival and Berghain to name a few, and ambitiously created a concept album entitled Junkspace in 2018, in collaboration with famed architect Rem Koolhaas, about the deconstructed banality and overlooked grace of 20th century shopping mall culture.

In 2019, Tempers signed to Dais Records and released their album of "dark synths, atmospheric guitars, propulsive beats, gloomy vocals and hypnotic song hooks" (KEXP) Private Life on October 25th.

In December 2020, Dais reissued Services, available for the first time in the US and worldwide.

With 2022's self-produced New Meaning, Tempers present an album about navigating the unknown, coping mechanisms and exploring the nature of choice. Its ten songs reflect on the creation of meaning as an access to liberation in times of transition and loss, speculating on the transformative potential that exists alongside the grief of living in a world that is in an ongoing state of crisis.
