Genesis P-Orridge & Thee Early Worm – Early Worm
The legendary and never before heard 1968 recordings of Genesis P-Orridge and friends, transfered and mastered from the original tape from the Porridge With Everything Archives. Recorded in a roofspace attic during the summer of 1968 by Genesis P-Orridge (then a young Neil Andrew Megson) and friends, and later pressed to a single acetate in 1969, this recording is probably the most documented (yet never heard) missing piece of musical history in the legacy of Coum Transmissions, Throbbing Gristle, and Psychic TV. Sounds of clattering instuments, vocal experiments and innocent absurdity of youth. Remastered and preserved in a limited vinyl pressing, with liner notes written by Genesis Breyer P-Orridge.

Whip & The Body - S/T
A short-lived, or more like non-existent, Brooklyn noise creature that has decided to rear it’s malformed head onto the Dais roster. Furious as it was powerful, punishing to point of audible pain. 3 songs recorded in a single session with no overdubs or outtakes, a recording that serves as a decaying snapshot of the rotting core that is NYC noise. Crushing, harsh power electronics for fans of early Whitehouse, Grey Wolves or Ramleh…a release that makes no promises. Featuring members of Veins, York Factory Complaint and Pygmy Shrews.

Cult of Youth - A Stick To Bind, A Seed To Grow
With only a mysterious self released 7” as proof of existence, Cult of Youth was a true enigma among the swash of contemporary folk music. Playing anchored vengeful occultist neofolk in a town filled with fly-by-night posturing indie rock, Cult of Youth seems to stand alone and unapologetic. Carefully composing one of the most well-rounded albums within the genre over the past few years, Cult of youth incorporates an array of instrumentation and thinly veiled references much like the earlier works of Death In June and Current 93, but where Sean R. of Cult of Youth walked alone from his predecessors is the power and energy, truly unique to this project and perfectly executed his art. Thirteen harrowing sigils, each one composing this brilliant debut full length release.

Cold Cave – The Trees Grew Emotions & Died
From the creative mind of Wes Eisold comes touching and nostalgic analogue coldwave in the vein of early Echo West, New Order and Absolute Body Control. This debut EP release captures Eisold’s redeeming vision of a world lot without hope, channeling this mantra using simple sequenced electronic rhythm and haunting poetic verse. Cold Cave stands alone as being our modern answer to our nostalgic desires and dreams. Danceable and addictive synths with shifting, deep vocals under washes of static… 4:00 AM dance hits waiting to happen.

Awen - The Bells Before Dawn
Texas based neofolk/ambient ensemble Awen’s debut full length entitled “The Bells Before Dawn” has redefined the genre and upped the bar by setting the haunting mood that most other only strive for. Awen bring forth a mood of lost & forgotten history, only remembered by the ghost of our ancestors and faith in one’s own past. While most modern neofolk misses the mark, The Bells Before Dawn hits the bullseye dead-on with a professional sound of a warlike orchestra accompanied by vocalist Erin Powell’s delivery of prophetic and apocalyptic verse similar to the sounds of Death In June, Rome or Strength Through Joy.

Tor Lundvall - Sleeping and Hiding
Tor Lundvall has been quietly blazing the trail in the realm of serene ambient composition for almost 20 years. Mostly flying gracefully under the radar on Secret Fortune and Tony Wakeford’s Tursa imprint, as well as a handful of self-released titles on his own Eternal Autumn Editions, Tor Lundvall has stood alone as being one of the most consistent and hauntingly beautiful musicians the world has ever seen. While Lundvall has released eight full length albums, Sleeping & Hiding is Lundvall’s first vinyl-only album consisting of lonely keyboards and echoed vocals touched off by ethereal, dreamlike composition. Sleeping & Hiding is a album of pure, magical ghost ambiance, perfect for a quiet night’s stroll through an autumn forest.

COUM Transmissions - Sound of Porridge Bubbling
The first in a continuing series of unreleased recordings by COUM Transmissions on Dais Records. Considered to be COUM’s first proper record, initially recorded in 1971, but never released due to the fast pace of COUM actions and line-up changes, this bizarre album was shelved and forgotten into the rabbit hole of the P-Orridge With Everything archives. Freak-out bohemian Fluxus styled performances which toys with early tape experiments, voice alteration improve and psych freeform jam sessions that ride the absurd rollercoaster into madness. Released for the first time ever, remastered with complete liner notes written by Genesis Breyer P-Orridge.

Twin Stumps - S/T
After a couple years of crawling through the tangled mess that is the underground of Brooklyn, NY, Twin Stumps pulled together a unpolished and coarse collection of songs to make up their freshman release. Six songs hammered through, with a contemporary nod to the likes of No Trend & German Shepherds, but giving it a more abrasive rock feel fitting in with bands such as Brainbombs, Pissed Jeans or Clockcleaner. Sweaty pigfuck noise rock at its best.

An exclusive vinyl release of the live violin collaboration between avant-garde legends Tony Conrad and Genesis Breyer P-Orridge featuring percussion by Morrison Edley. Presented by filmmaker Marie Losier and recording live in January, 2009 at Issue Project Room in Brooklyn, NY. This concert was a brief showcase tying together the obvious connection between Conrad and P-Orridge..their unique and chaotic relationship with the world’s most cherished instrument. Both artists have previously been the subject of filmed documents by Ms. Losier, thus creating a perfect storm of playful, drone beauty. Deviation Social - From End to Beginning Vol 1 : Compilation Tracks 1982-84
Started from the ashes of the post-industrial scene of San Francisco and continuing onwards until his final performance in 1986, Deviation Social became a obscure cult phenomenon to followers of industrial tape culture of the 1980′s. Only self releasing his recordings through his Ppresence label, the Deviation Social output was limited to a handful of tapes (some being less than 20 copies) and one sole 7″, all of which fetch huge sums through collectors markets today. This limited release on Dais collects all of Deviation Social’s contributions to experimental/noise/industrial cassette compilations throughout the early 80′s on such notable labels as Vita Nova, Aeon, Beyond The Pale, and Another Room. Primitive, raw, and powerful….Deviation Social drew on influences & contemporaries such as Throbbing Gristle, SPK and Leather Nun but fused a experimental approach of musique concrete and crude experimentation using analog synthesizers, hollowed drum machines and tribal instruments allowing him to sporadically, at will, create some of the most interesting and unabashed industrial recordings the genre has created. Limited to 500 copies and includes a 8-page LP booklet with original liner notes by Deviation Social and archival zine interviews republished for the first time since their original publication.

Beastianity – Root
First ever vinyl reissue of the legendary Australian neofolk outfit Beastianity’s first album “Root”. Passionate and driving, wild and untamed – honestly one of the most moving and intense recordings of the genre. Beastianity have survived close to two decades as a rogue unit of individuals dedicated to the upkeep of the sub-underground sound. Always pushing their vision with the aid of two-track cassettes and pamphlet drops on public transport and host media in the days prior to the web. The sonic confrontation of their show was, and is still, a baptism of fire. Only those who could laugh through the excrutiating feedback, tape loops, screaming, potential off stage violence and gunpowder stench would stick around to see the pack develop a sound that remains uniquely Australian. Originally released over a decade ago in 1999, Dais has rediscovered and remastered the album to vinyl with the help of Beastianity’s own Praise Dog Publishing to give it a proper limited edition release with the first 100 mail order editions coming with an exclusive CDr of the rare outtake, “The Hated That Pleasure Brings”.

Debut full length from the lucid avant-garde noise vehicle of Sasha Grey & Pablo St. Francis. While typically overshadowed by Ms. Grey’s previous forays in adult entertainment, her contributions and collaborations in experimental music are undeniable. aTelecine has reached out to a vast collection of influences, bringing to mind the sound sculpture aesthetics of Throbbing Gristle but having a delicate, ambient hand akin to the likes of Sleep Chamber. Complex, haunting tracks following up their earlier dub noise single … a perfect example of art come to life. Rigid and endearing sounds encapsulating the intimate relationship of the subject and artist. Featuring exclusive illustrations by revered French artist Frédéric Poincelet.

Andrew King, along with collaborators Brown Sierra, send forth a follow-up EP to last year’s folk diamond “Thalassocracy”. ”The Kraken” sounds like a traditional maritime shanty ripped from history’s pages, laced with experimental beauty, electronic hisses, and static. Andrew’s own background as one of the primary members of Sol Invictus (along side Tony Wakeford) & The Triple Tree mixed with his studies of ancient English folklore forged with Brown Sierra’s epic electronic noise instrumentation make this release one to be anticipated and easily one of the most remembered folk recordings of the past year.

Robert Turman - Way Down
Originally released as a small run cassette in 1987, only to fall into tape label obscurity, Robert Turmans industrial genre-bending masterpiece album Way Down finally has been excavated for a proper vinyl reissue after twenty-three years in the shadows. This album solidifies Turman as a cut above the rest with respect to his talent and his natural ear for experimental composition. Turman first came onto the industrial scene in the late 70s as the ominous other half of legendary noise outfit NON, alongside Boyd Rice, together releasing the now classic first NON single, Mode of Infection/Knife Ladder 7″ in 1977. After parting ways, Turman went on an excursion of self-released cassettes to which he fused every possible influence at his disposal, culling together past habits of experimental know-how and going forward into uncharted terrain. After his previous experimental efforts included on his Flux release in 1981, and even later in the prolific Chapter Eleven boxset, Turman turned the tables with the creation of Way Down, using synthesizer arrangements and drum machines alongside guitar solos, piano chords, tape loops and primitive sampling to create a whole new concoction of dance-like minimal synth blended together with the industrial darkwave noise he was mostly known for. After almost vanishing from the music scene, Turman resurfaced in 2005, teaming up with seminal noise musician Aaron Dilloway to not only reissue previous recordings, but to record and perform once again with new releases out on Hanson and Medusa. This vinyl reissue of Way Down serves as the blueprint of what Turman sought to render as a very accessible minimal synth/industrial album, yet keeping it just obtuse enough to make it one of the most brilliant and engaging albums to be ushered into the canon of 80s experimental culture.

Lord Foul saw recent revival after being covered by Nargaroth on their live DVD, a slew of black metal artists started to cite Lord Foul as a primary influence. These demos were finally released on CD by Forever Plagued and now, for the first time ever, released on vinyl by Dais. A hateful document from the early metal underground! Iceage – New Brigade
It’s not often that you hear a perfect record. Or a record created with such honesty and energy that it makes you drop absolutely everything, listen intently, and then completely readjust your outlook on music. With an average age of 17, this Copenhagen quartet has somehow managed to redefine our perception entirely, and we love it. Uncontrived, pure – this record is a youthful assault of downer no-wave hardcore, wise beyond its years. Dais is proud to unveil Iceage here in the States with our special limited edition LP of their first album “New Brigade”. Ghédalia Tazartès – Diasporas
Originally recorded in 1977 with a limited pressing in 1979 on the underground French label Cobalt, Ghédalia Tazartès debut album, Diasporas, quietly fell into the catacombs of avant-garde obscurity. Tazartès himself, (a strange, nomadic character) played upon myths and legends about his existence and sounds – making him somewhat of a lost legend, trapped between a modern time and a surreal, simple age. Inclusion of Diasporas on Steve Stapleton’s famed “Nurse With Wound List” only added fuel to the fire of this legendary album. Traditional Parisian folk, frightening tape loops, and gypsy incantations …. Truly one of the most fascinating and mysterious albums ever created. This installment in the COUM story entitled Sugarmorphoses was recorded in 1974 by Genesis P-Orridge within the COUM headquarters, joyfully known as the Ho Ho Funhouse, and is one of the most far-flung, experimental recordings related to COUM. This recording consists of Genesiss candid kitchen recordings of solo broken piano improvisations accompanied by P-Orridges own reel to reel experiments using old tape dating back to 1965, from which a young Neil Megson made countless field recordings and homework dictations. Playful, chaotic, imaginative, and historic. Dark pagan-fueled folk wrapped tight with outsider Americana, steeped in themes of love, death and redemption. Stepping forward alone, King Dude has now toured across America, as well as a highly successful European tour this year…an atmosphere filled with hope and salvation, drawing sound influence akin to Death In June & Sol Invictus but sewing together a hybrid of true folk tradition alongside Woody Guthrie and Johnny Cash.
